EGF TRY GOLF campaign gets underway in
Alex with 42 newcomers trying golf. 24 Sign up for beginners class
24th January 2010
The EGF TRY GOLF campaign got off to the best possible
start, with 42 trying the sport on the first day of the TRY GOLF
series at Alexandria Sporting Club. EGF’s Golf Development Officer,
along with the resident Professionals, delivered a series a
introduction to golf classes throughout the day, giving 42
individuals the chance to experience the game. 24 of those committed
to a beginners golf class starting the following weekend and a
further 10 promised to start the game 2 weeks later. The success of
the first day is due to the enthusiasm and drive of the Alexandria
Sporting Committee.
Their commitment to the idea and the promotion of the TRY
GOLF classes over the previous few weeks has made the difference. It
is hoped that all clubs see the importance of this program and
commit to promoting their own TRY GOLF classes in the same way.
These golfers that are created from this EGF created and funded
initiative will become lesson takes, equipment buyers and clubs
members of the future.
